INSTALLING THE
JLD BRIDGE SYSTEM

PART 3: MOUNTING THE JLD BRIDGE SYSTEM

There are six bridge pins included with the JLD Vintage Pin set. Notice that the holes drilled transversely through the pin heads are ordered in size to accommodate the six different string diameters.

Put the pins in their appropriate holes (except for the D string pin which will be used to mount the Bridge System) and fasten them in place with the kepnuts which are supplied. Reach in and tighten the nuts by hand (with the lockwasher side facing the guitar top) and then use a paper clip, safety pin or small drill bit to tighten the pins and line the holes up parelell to the strings. The pins should fit snugly but shouldn't be overtightened.

Put the JLD Bridge System in through the soundhole and line up the hole in the top of the mounting block with the bridge pin hole for the D string. (Using different bridge pin holes will "change the EQ" and produce differences in response in different ranges of the guitar. While the D string hole seems to produce a very even response, you should feel free to experiment with different string holes.) A flashlight shined through the bridge pin holes can make it easier to find the top of the post.

Insert the D string pin through its bridge pin hole and twist it into the threaded hole in the top of the mounting block. Again, use a paper clip or similar tool to snug the JLD Bridge System against the inside of the top. Line the hole in the pin up so it faces the saddle.
