INSTALLING THE
JLD BRIDGE SYSTEM

PART 2: MAKING SURE THE BRIDGE SYTEM FITS INSIDE YOUR GUITAR

The JLD Bridge System is already sized to fit in most guitars but some guitars have a thinner body or a tall back brace that can get in the way. If necessary, you can shorten the Bridge System with a hacksaw or sharp knife. Use the cut lines shown in figure A at right to produce a result similar to figure B.

With the strings off the guitar, reach in through the soundhole and hold the JLD Bridge System inside the guitar in the position it will ultimately be mounted in. Be sure the bottom of the Bridge System clears the back of the guitar and any back braces before proceeding.

If you're installing the Bridge System in a Classical Guitar, many of them have a thin brace that runs directly down the seam where the two halves of the top are joined. To accommodate this brace (which is usually 1/8" tall or so), you can file a notch across the plastic top of the mounting block parellel to the torque tube.
