INSTALLING THE
JLD BRIDGE SYSTEM

PART 4: ADJUSTING THE BRIDGE BLOCKS

The JLD Bridge System uses two blocks. The mounting block is responsible for securing the unit to the top of your guitar. The saddle block is adjusted to contact the top at the "hot spot" just under the guitar's saddle. Looking down on the bridge, the dotted lines at C and E represent the places where the blocks contact the underside of the top.

Unscrew the torque tube from the two blocks and adjust the distance between them to match the distance between the saddle and the mounting hole. This measurement doesn't have to be perfect but get as close as possible.

Re-insert the torque tube and tighten it with the blocks properly spaced to lock the positioning of the blocks.

Hold the unit upside down on the top of the bridge to measure the gap.

Unit shown is a prototype but the principle is the same.

Next, we'll mount the JLD Bridge System in the guitar.
